Saturday the 26th of April see the Annual Town Criers Competition in Yeovil’s Entertainment Area, the competition starts at 10:30 after a procession through the Town Centre & Quedam Shopping Centre. The competition is hosted by our Yeovil Town Crier “Bruce“, as host he cannot enter but he makes the opening cry and then introduces each crier in turn. We are expecting 21 criers from all over the country, last time I saw the competition the were criers from abroad as well. The spectacle is something to see and hear, if you have never seen this competition before, bring your camera, the costumes are spectacular and a riot of colour, you will get some great photos.
Come and enjoy the spectacle and fun, make a date in your diary, there is a round of cries in the morning and a round of cries in the afternoon at 2:45pm with the closing cry by Bruce at around 4:30pm with the winners announced straight after.
Also on the same day is the Monthly Farmers Market, at the top end of Middle Street, there are all sorts of goodies for sale there and is also well worth a visit. This market is the fourth saturday of every month, so if you cannot make it this month remember it for the future.
